Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive behavioral therapy. Its main goal is to teach the client skills to cope with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others. Its major emphasis is on mindfulness, stress reduction, and healthy coping skills. Before client can be considered for the group an intake appointment is required with a facilitator/therapist to determine if the group is a good fit for the client.
