Kamisha earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota in 2009. She is currently working on another Master’s in Leadership & Management from Concordia University. Kamisha has worked as a counselor since 2008 in various settings including residential, in-home, group and crisis-settings. Her training and focus areas include looking at individuals through a lens that includes their overall well-being. With emphasis on strength-based and empowering practices that incorporates DBT-informed skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Life transitions and Motivational Interviewing. Her life experience in combination with education and training has helped her demonstrate competency in areas that include cultural sensitivity, families, individuals and young adults.
