Hoinu earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 2004 from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship at Hazelden in Center City, MN and her postdoctoral fellowship at The Emily Program in St. Paul, MN. Her training includes assessments and treatment of chemical dependency, bariatric surgery (pre/post), mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, and chronic pain. She has experience in inpatient and outpatient settings and treatment of adolescents, adults, and couples. Her theoretical orientation is integrative with emphasis on cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic approaches. She uses a collaborative, strength based approach with her clients.
