Jody Carlson

Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 

Ms. Carlson earned her Master's of Science degree from the University of North Dakota in 2013. She completed clinical rotations in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry clinics, nursing homes, assisted living, chemical dependency treatment settings and residential treatment of severe and persistent mental illnesses. Ms. Carlson also received psychotherapy training. She has practice experience in a variety of settings including an outpatient mental health clinic, private practice and residential treatment for adolescent males with sexually deviant behavior. Age range: 7 years and up, with younger clients considered on a case-by-case basis. Clinical services include diagnostic assessment and psychiatric medication management with therapy. Augmentative or alternative prescription of pharmacy-grade supplements, genomic testing and report review. Ms. Carlson uses a holistic, recovery and client-focused collaborative approach. Her theoretical orientation is best described as cognitive-behavioral and eclectic. Special interests include psychiatric treatment of the pediatric population and benefits of the natural environment.
